Strongly Correlated
Electron Systems
The head of the group is Professor Alexander
N. Vasil'ev
The main interests of the group deal with quantum cooperative
phenomena in solids: low-dimensional magnetism; magnetism and superconductivity;
interplay between spin, orbital and charge degrees of freedom. The second
direction of investigation is the study of physical principles of magnetically
driven shape memory effect.
Narrow-Gap Semiconductors
The head of the group is Professor Boris A. Akimov
The group is involved in both fundamental and applied research. The fundamental
aspects deal with basic physics of semiconductors with small characteristic energies in
the spectrum. The applied research is directed to development of new types of different
sensors based on specific features of these semiconductors.
Condensed Matter
Theory
The head of the group is Professor Alexey V. Dmitriev
Main research interests of the group include charge carrier kinetics in
semiconductors, non-equilibrium phenomena and relaxation, low dimensional structures,
semiconductor optics.
Low Dimensional Structures
The head of the group is Professor Vladimir A. Kulbachinskii
Transport and optical investigations of low dimensional structures (2D, 1D, 0D) at low and superlow
temperatures, in high electric and magnetic fields and under pressure.
Narrow-Gap Semiconductors:
Defect States
The head of the group is Professor Evgueni
P. Skipetrov
Main research interests of the group are devoted to experimental study of charge
carriers energy spectrum and deep localized defect states, including irradiation-induced states, in narrow-gap semiconductors.
Semiconductors and
nanostructures
The head of the group is Professor
Natalya Ya. Minina
Main research interests of the group are experimental and theoretical
investigations of low dimensional structures and semiconductors under
uniaxial compression.
Semimagnetic
Metals and Semiconductors
The head of the group is
Professor Yuri P. Gaidukov
Main research interests of the group are devoted to experimental
investigations of elastic and magnetic properties of metals and semiconductors
at low temperatures.
Tunneling in HTSC
The head of the group is Professor Yaroslav G.
Ponomarev.
Main research interests of the group are experimental investigations of
tunneling effects in high temperature superconductors.
